Keoki Franconi was born in El Salvador but moved to Kihei, Maui, when he was 8.[1] After graduating from Kailua High School he moved to the mainland to study at an airline school in California. When that didn't work, he moved to New York City and got a job with Trans World Airlines in New York, tracking lost luggage[3] while also being a busboy at the city's trendy Danceteria club.[1] It was at Danceteria that he got his start:
I kept bugging a nearby club's manager to, please, please, please let me DJ there. I told him I knew how to do it, even though I only had a small collection of records and one turntable at home. He let me play a lounge gig on some of the slower nights. He told me to 'play whatever the fuck you want, so long as they stay,' words I've continued to live by to this day.

It was while DJing at Disco 2000 Alig's party night at the Limelight that one of the biggest myths about Keoki began, the one where Mr Superstar passed out on the turntables while doing a set, "I guarantee you that never fucking happened" states DJ Keoki. [4] The myth is true, however the location is simply incorrect. The club at which Keoki passed out at, on the turn tables, was at Simon's Club in Gainesville, Florida. He also stole the club owner's car and disappeared, which caused him to be banned from DJing at the club. Franconi and Alig both developed expensive drug habits and began to grow apart. Alig's drug use indebted him to Angel Melendez, whom he murdered after an argument over many things including a long-standing drug debt.[5] Subsequently, Alig became a fugitive from the law and Franconi broke all ties with him.

DJ Craze was born in Managua, Nicaragua. At the age of 3, in 1980,[1] he fled the country with his family during the war which lasted throughout the 1980s.[2] Craze and his family moved to San Francisco, California, where they lived for a short while, before moving to Miami, Florida, where he currently resides.[3]
The style of his music carries many of his past musical influences. Initially influenced by the Miami Bass movement when he was younger, Craze has gone on to incorporate elements of hip-hop, drum n bass, and breaks in his turntable routines. Recently, Craze has shifted his emphasis to DJ'ing and producing drum n bass with his own record label "Cartel".

Adam Goldstein was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania into a Jewish family. As a child, his father verbally abused him, which Goldstein called "unbelievably cruel." He later found out his father was secretly gay and addicted to drugs.[1] His father was sent to jail for committing bank fraud and later died from AIDS.[2] He began taking drugs, so his mother placed him in a treatment center that specialized in “tough love.”
When Goldstein was 20 years old, he started deejaying, which he'd been obsessed with since seeing Herbie Hancock do the song “Rockit” at the Grammy Awards. He started going to AA meetings again and distanced himself from friends who were still using drugs. "By then, I was booking jobs at every major club and had started to gain a following," he told Glamour magazine. [3]
Goldstein was a member of the rock band Crazy Town, known for their hit "Butterfly". He has also scratched on albums for Papa Roach, Madonna, Will Smith, and Shifty and played concerts with Jay-Z. He has played private events for celebrities like Jim Carrey, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Stiller, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, and Kate Hudson.[4] He had had a one-year contract with Las Vegas' Pure Nightclub inside Caesar's Palace to play at the venue every Friday and to open a nightclub at Caesars Atlantic City called Dusk.[5]

Larry was named in Urb Magazines Next 100 as one of the top up and coming performers in electronic music period.

In 2005 Larry moved to Frankfurt, Germany where he jumped into the European DJ circuit playing and in turn being invited back to top notch clubs Fuse, The Loft, and Coppelia 101. He also joined Databooks - Datapunk’s booking / artist management which is a very exclusive and small booking agency rostering the likes of Anthony Rother, Billy Nasty, Funk D Void, and Gregor Tresher. Larry’s DJing skills are undeniably energetic yet deep bridging the many facets of electro while pushing the limit of the sound into other genres. Larry has traveled the U.S. and around the globe reaching hot spots such as Budapest, Brussels, London, Barcelona, Tel Aviv, Madrid, and Frankfurt just to name a few.

As a producer Larry has quite a discography in 6 short years of production releasing 3 full length albums and 25 twelve inch singles/E.P.s on top electro labels Datapunk, Satamile, Psi49net as well as his own Monotone U.S.A. imprint. Larry has also appeared on many compilations from Sony's "This is not the 80's" to "In Electro We Trust" which is a who's who of electro featuring exclusive tracks from The Hacker, Advent, Carl Finlow, Alexander Kowalski, and Johannes Heil. As a live performer Larry has headlined stages with the likes of Karl Bartos, DJ Craze, Anthony Rother, Dynamix II, and Jackal & Hyde.

Rabbit In The Moon - Deeper

Formed in Tampa, Florida, the act consists of frontman Bunny (Stephen Eachon) along with producers Monk (Steve McClure) and T. Confucius (Dave Christophere).
After several singles released on Hallucination Recordings under the guise Anarch-E, their first success as producers came in 1993 with the release of the "Phases of an Out of Body Experience" single on Hardkiss Records. As remixers, Rabbit In the Moon has reworked songs by artists such as Depeche Mode ("Waiting for the Night"), Tori Amos ("Precious Things"), Sarah McLachlan ("Fear", "Possession"), Orbital ("Are We Here?"), Smashing Pumpkins ("The End Is the Beginning Is the End"), Goldie ("Inner City Life"), White Zombie ("Blood, Milk and Sky") and Delerium ("Euphoria").

Jackal & Hyde - Darkstar

Jackal & Hyde was formed in 1998 by partners scott Weiser, and Todd Walker in an effort to combine a harder edge sound with the dancefloor sensibility of Electro, Industrial and Breakbeat. Besides their original work, Jackal & Hyde's sound has been requested for multiple remix productions including Kid Rock, No Doubt, Love & Rockets, and Genitorturers among others. Together, Jackal & Hyde have had a string of successful records out on their original label Hallucination Recordings owned by techno gurus, Rabbit in The Moon. Their songs have been licensed by many of the top DJ's in the World for a wide array of compilations by the likes of West Bam, Andrew Weatherall, Taylor, DJ Icey, and 'Hero of Hard-core' Omar Santana to name a few. Their new album (due out Fall 2006) has been 3 years in the making and includes some of the hardest electronic music ever made. Four years ago, Morbid Angel front man and guitarist David Vincent befriended Jackal & Hyde after hearing their work and has played/co-produced on a few tracks on the new album. Moreover, Gen, lead vocalist of the legendary Genitorturers also appears on 4 songs on the album. Their shows are known for cutting edge, in your face music and unbelievable visuals by Hallucination on film. Afrika Bambaataa - Planet Rock

Afrika Bambaataa grew up in one of the 15-story towers of the Bronx River Projects, with an activist mother and uncle. As a child, he was exposed to the black liberation movements of the era, and witnessed debates between his mother and uncle regarding the conflicting ideologies of the movements. Importantly, he was also exposed to his mother's extensive and eclectic record collection.[1] Due to the official policy of benign neglect in regards to the Bronx in the 1970's, people joined gangs for safety reasons. The gangs became the law in the absence of law, clearing their turf of drug dealers, assisting with community health programs and both fighting and partying to keep members and turf.[1] Bambaataa was a founding member of the Bronx River Projects-area street gang The Savage Seven. Due to the explosive growth of the gang, it later became known as the Black Spades, and Bambaataa quickly rose to the position of warlord. It was his job as warlord to build ranks and expand the turf of the Black Spades. Bambaataa was not afraid to cross turfs to forge relationships with other gang members, and with other gangs. As a result, the Spades became the biggest gang in the city in terms of both membership and turf

The Egyptian Lover - Egypt, Egypt

The Egyptian Lover started out as a D.J. in Los Angeles with Uncle Jamms Army D.J.ing dances at the L.A. Sports Arena. He began recording around Los Angeles in 1982 as a member of the Radio Crew. In the early days of hip hop, albums were rare, so most of The Egyptian Lover's successful recordings were 12" singles. He would eventually release some of the earliest rap LPs, which was especially unique for being west-coast based, but they were less popular than his singles. But on the strength of containing an alternate mix of his most popular single "Egypt, Egypt", 1984's On the Nile was moderately successful. After a break in the early 1990s, Egyptian Lover returned in 1994 (see 1994 in music) with Back from the Tomb. His last full-length album in over ten years. 2006 The Egyptian Lover records another new album "Platinum Pyramids".

Uberzone - Botz

Überzone is Anaheim, California native Timothy Wiles, a.k.a Q (James Bond), named after the popular character in the James Bond series played by Desmond Llewelyn. Wiles is well known for concocting interesting gizmos and gadgets. He made a hobby out of collecting electronic music gear since his early teen years, which inspired his nickname. He has been an avid producer on the electronic music and breakbeat scenes since the mid-90s, playing at early raves. His first show as Überzone was for DJ Sharpe at the Edge in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Wiles has produced many popular 12-inch singles which have appeared on many DJ compilation albums, including "Botz," his first EP released on indie dance label "City Of Angels" in 1995, and Space Kadet EP following year in 1996 (containing Botz, Moondusted, The Brain and others). In 1999 he collaborated with Afrika Bambaataa from Soul Sonic Force on the electro breaks driven anthem "2 Kool 4 Skool". He has also toured extensively with such acts as The Crystal Method. His debut album Faith In The Future was released on Astralwerks in 2001. Two mix CDs followed, 2002's The Digital Mix (Moonshine) and 2004's Uberzone Y4K (Distinctive Breaks). Wiles' latest album, Ideology, was released on Nitrus/Equation records on July 31, 2007. He has also been featured in the documentary Better Living Through Circuitry.

DJ Baby Anne (born Marianne Breslin), sometimes referred to as "the Bass Queen", is a disc jockey best known for her energetic live sets and original mixes that fuse Electro with Miami Bass and funky breaks. Her biggest influence is the prominent Orlando-based breakbeat artist DJ Icey. Her musical influences range from Miami Bass stalwarts Dynamix II and Afro-Rican to old school electronic masters Kraftwerk and 808 State.[1]
Marianne first entered the electronic music scene in 1992, mixing breakbeat sets in her native Orlando, Florida. During the beginning of her career, she collaborated often with DJ Icey. According to some, Baby Anne's first public appearance took place when DJ Icey was spinning at a private party and allowed Anne on the tables. Her charisma and mixing ability was an immediate hit with the crowd[citation needed]. Soon after, the fledgling DJ began performing under the name DJ Baby Anne and eventually began to produce her own music under the same name.

Kraftwerk were formed in 1970 by Florian Schneider (flutes, synthesisers, electro-violin) and Ralf Hütter (electronic organ, synthesisers). The two had met as students at the Düsseldorf Conservatory in the late 1960s, participating in the German experimental music scene of the time, which the British music press dubbed "Krautrock".[6]
The duo had originally performed together in a quintet known as Organisation.[7] This ensemble released one album, titled Tone Float (issued on RCA Records in the UK)[8] but the group split shortly thereafter. Early Kraftwerk line-ups from 1970–1974 fluctuated, as Hütter and Schneider worked with around a half-dozen other musicians over the course of recording three albums and sporadic live appearances; most notably guitarist Michael Rother and drummer Klaus Dinger, who left to form Neu!.[9]
The input, expertise, and influence of producer/engineer Konrad "Conny" Plank was highly significant in the early years of Kraftwerk and Plank also worked with many of the other leading German electronic acts of the period, including members of Can, Neu!, Cluster and Harmonia. As a result of his work with Kraftwerk, Plank's studio near Cologne became one of the most sought-after studios in the late 1970s. Plank co-produced the first four Kraftwerk albums.[10]

DJ Icey - Cross Eyed Sally (Robotic Ragga Mix)

Icey states that as a child he was mesmerized by electronic music ever since hearing the synthesizer breakdown on The Edgar Winter Group's "Frankenstein". "My mom had that album and I would play that middle part over and over wondering how they made that sound," Icey recounts. "I was little and thought it was so cool".
He went on to study ballet.
Rising to prominence out of the fertile Orlando, Florida electronic music scene, which has spawned such acts as AK 1200, Kimball Collins, Jimmy Van M, Chris Fortier, VJ Monk, DJ Matt G and Baby Anne, Icey first cut his teeth at the legendary Edge nightclub in the mid-90s. When the Edge closed in 1996, DJ Icey hit the road and has continued to tour across the United States ever since. In 1997, Icey was discovered by BBC Radio 1 DJ and longtime A&R kingpin Pete Tong and became the first American producer signed to Tong's U.S. label. Icey was also the first American DJ selected to record a prestigious "Essential Mix" for U.S. Release.

With few exceptions, the definition of the electro sound is the use of drum machines as the rhythmic base of a track. Rhythm patterns tend to be electronic emulations of breakbeats, with syncopated kick drums, and usually a snare or clap accenting the downbeat. The definition however is somewhat ambiguous in nature due to the various use of the term.[5]
Staccato, percussive rhythms dominate electro, with beats often provided by the Roland TR-808 drum machine. The TR-808, created in 1980, has an immediately recognizable sound, and remains popular in electro and other genres to the present day. Other electro instrumentation is generally all-electronic, favoring analog synthesis, funk-style bass lines, sequenced or arpeggiated synthetic riffs, and atonal sound effects all created with synthesizers. Heavy use of effects such as reverbs, delays, chorus or phasers along with synthetic ensemble strings or pad sounds emphasize the common science fiction or futuristic theme of the lyrics and/or music. Most electro is instrumental, but a common element is vocals processed through a vocoder. Additionally, speech synthesis may be used to create robotic or mechanical lyrical content. Some earlier electro features rapping, but that lyrical style has become less popular in the genre from the 1990s onward.
